Zin Zin Zin A Violin, Peter & The Wolf
The Lockport City Ballet will bring you two delightful ballets in one evening! Peter and the Wolf by Sergei Prokofiev, is the story of the little boy who “cried wolf” brought to life through ballet and music. Angelina Ballerina is an original ballet based on the Katharine Holabird book.

The Nutcracker
Every December, the Lockport City Ballet presents the beloved Christmas ballet, The Nutcracker. With music by the great Russian composer Peter Tchiakovsky and original choreography by William Gentes and Susannah Dwyer, the production is comprised of seventy- five to one hundred local children, teenagers, adults and guest artists. The Nutcracker is entertaining for the entire family, complete with beautiful sets and costumes and exciting choreography.

Spring Performance 2008
Another opportunity for students to perform on stage is the Spring Performance, held every year in mid-June. Original choreography is geared to showcase the talents of each class, and appropriate music is carefully chosen. Aside from classical and contemporary original choreography, some students learn and perform portions of ballets from the classical repetoire, such as Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, and Paquita.
In June of 2005, the Spring Performance included an original piece accompanied by the live music of the Maelström Percussion Ensemble. In the future, it is our goal to include live music at every Spring Performance. |
